Hi there again

Ok ok so posting regularly about the building of our house was never going to happen. So we have a frame, and a roof, lots of wiring, some brickwork. All good!

Blowout

It was around about this day that we found out that Civic had underestimated the required amount of power cable by 40 meters! This meant thicker cable was required, to limit the voltage drop, and maximise the drop in our finances (by 6 Big Ones).

It certainly was a long trench though.

Up past the shed,

and the stables...

around the corner....
and up to the house. 270 meters all up!

Slabs, Tanks 'n' Phonelines!

All day Wednesday and some of Thursday, trucks brought dirt, and machines squashed it down.

So that by the end of Thursday, we had this slab...

....which the boys thought made a wonderful pretend runway!

On Friday, a massive hole was made to accommodate this, our Envirocycle Tank.

Finally, halfway through Friday we realised we had no phone or internet connection. The kindly line man from Telstra discovered this!

Today, Sunday, I went to work early for a "quick case" that turned into a nightmare! Meanwhile, Dad was all by himself, making me a fence to keep the trucks and the kids away from each other! Pics of that next blog.

I've discovered how terribly difficult it is to keep this e-journal up to date on a daily basis!

The Beginning

Today it started. Large trucks bearing earth rumbled and scruffled up our driveway sending squalls of dust directly into the neighbours kitchen. By lunchtime, two large trees were no longer vertical (that had happened by 8am actually), and a very large house pad was starting to take shape in the top paddock. Cool! Only 8 months to go!

Oh! By the way, Happy Anniversary Baby!
